Designed in 1998, the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg is a huge glass building that houses works of all kinds: paintings, sculptures, decorative art and stained glass dating from Impressionism to the present day.
The part of the background that can be considered as historical (from 1870 to 1960) gives a fairly detailed overview of the great movements: impressionism, Post-Impressionism, art 1900, Fauvism, Expressionism, Surrealism …
On the first floor of the museum, the terrace of the café restaurant offers a magnificent view of the Ill (a French river that bathes the plain of Alsace) and Petite France.
